About NVCM

SUNDAY FEBRUARY 19, 2012 at Holy Innocents │ 4:00pm

Noe Valley Chamber Music series is excited to present Musica Pacifica,

as they perform Dancing in the Isles, the Sequel! a rousing program of Baroque folk and dance music from Scotland, Ireland, and England.

One of Americas’s most exciting Baroque chamber ensembles featuring Judith Linsenberg, recorder │ Elizabeth Blumenstock, baroque violin │ Charles Sherman, harpsichord │ Shirley Hunt, viola de gamba returns to our stage with an exciting program of classical and traditional music from the British Isles. In response to the acclaim of their recent recording, Dancing in the Isles, the group brings a new program of their own arrangements of toe-tapping dance tunes and chamber works from the 17th and 18th centuries including dance suites from the English theater, Jacobean masque music, trio sonatas by Scots Oswald and McGibbon, as well as works with a Scottish flavor by Matteis and Veracini.

Check them out performing their music in 2010 at the Berkeley Early Music Festival concert!

February Recap

Robin Sutherland & Steve Dibner played to a full house on February 20th as the sunshine broke through the rain, both outside and in. Steve and Robin captivated the crowd with their musical mastery and entertained everyone with an energetic exchange of conversation and a lively Q&A after intermission.

Special thanks to Circle Bank for sponsoring the move of our Steinway piano to Holy Innocents so Robin could play on it for its last hurrah until the renovation at Noe Valley Ministry is completed. The Partita would not have been the same on a lesser instrument!

Special thanks to: Yvonne & Chris Keene for hosting a lovely donor thank you party at their home after the February concert; Robin Sutherland for playing a special encore there; Carlos Rivera and Circle Bank for sponsoring the move of our beautiful Steinway piano; and all of our wonderful donors who allow NVCM to do what we do best. Our donors enjoyed the extra up close and personal mixing and mingling after the concert with musicians Robin Sutherland and Steve Dibner.
